People rightly recognize that comments on blogs are just a form of a stream and thus the growth of open commenting platforms like Disqus and IntenseDebate. And if even 1% of users click on the ads because they’re relevant rather than on the organic search it’s a HUGE business (as you know). Just ask MySpace.
