Is it a Good Idea to Have Ads in Tweets?

So PPC (pay-per-click) advertising on social networks has performed poorly to date. But then I went to the Parnassus Group’s Twitter 140 conference run by Steve Broback and Brett Schulte. If we continue our success we will have strong competition. So why not put up those Halloween Costume ads when I’m on Facebook?
