Los Angeles-based venture capital firm GRP Partners has backed a provider of cloud-based databases, MongoLab , in its Series A funding. The company announced a funding round from Canaan Partners, Storm Ventures, and AME Cloud a couple of weeks ago. Amazon EC2 would be considered fully managed cloud, which also happens to be off premise. We notice there are quite a few open source companies, like yourself, here in Southern California, and in the Los Angeles area.
