Marina Del Rey-based Global Eagle Entertainment , the provider of in-flight, broadband Internet services, has signed a deal with satellite network operator Intelsat S.A. , The deal brings the total number of Intelsat satellites under contract to Global Eagle Entertainment to 17. the two said late Wednesday.

Marina Del Rey-based Internet video-on-demand firm CinemaNow has been acquired by Sonic Solutions, Sonic said late Wednesday afternoon. CinemaNow had recently been moving away from its consumer Internet business, and attempting to establish partnerships to connect its services to consumer electronics devices and the living room.
