On Friday, at the LA CTO Forum , I heard from a couple of CTOs having trouble finding good developers. I wouldn’t say it’s 1999 or even 2007, but it certainly has turned around. I'm primarily looking for front end developers who are experts in AS3, and back end developers who are proficient at PHP and MySQL.

Personally, I think the best products are designed, architected and built all at the same time. (As Ive hired some of my best people straight out of college, taxi cab drivers and have even stolen coffee makers from Starbucks. So, find Scrappy engineers, hire them, motivate them, keep them happy and keep them challenged.
