By the mid-nineties we had the World Wide Web, which gave us a standard way to publish web pages using HTML. On NY Times I’m getting recommended articles by friends and I didn’t explicitly turn this feature on. AOL is in the process of rebuilding itself and emulating a little-known LA-based startup called Demand Media.
