Altadena-based Unified Dispatch , a provider of fleet management and booking systems for the taxi and transportation market, has been acquired by a unit of Veolia Transportation , the owner of SuperShuttle, ExecuCar, and other transportation services. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed.

That's the story at Altadena-based Unified Dispatch , which was recently sold to the On-Demand Division of Veolia. The idea was they were going to create their own interactive voice response (IVR) technology, which we would keep in house and allow us to open up a nationwide call center to handle taxi calls.

Last week, Altadena-based AdventureLink (www.adventurelink.com) announced that it raised a Series A funding round, for the firm's adventure travel reservation network. I personally enjoy traveling, and looking at the space from a technology automation perspective. The round came from Anthem Venture Partners and the Mail Room Fund.
