Los Angeles-based GOGII , the venture backed provider of mobile social messaging services, has snagged MySpace exec Chandra Hill as its new Vice President of Monetization and Publishing. GOGII develops textPlus, a mobile social messaging application for the iPhone. Hill was most recently VP of Mobile Monetization at MySpace.

Los Angeles. There is no region in the country that comes close to having the sheer number of angels & VCs that Silicon Valley has as well as the dollars that flow into the region (40% of all dollars, PwC Moneytree report ). There are no $600 million funds in Los Angeles. Let me use LA as an example.

Matthew Graczyk is founder of angel-backed Zubican (www.zubican.com)--saw a problem, which was the difficulty of finding suppliers for products for businesses--and decided to solve the problem, with a site specifically targeted at helping B2B buyers and sellers connect. It's a full-blown, B2B social network. It's a double viral loop.
