It’s really hard to zig when the whole world seems to be zagging. I pointed to several Economist articles I had read that mapped historical prices of real estate for 400 years and how on average property values grow at no more 1.5% above inflation yet in many markets in the US & Europe prices were rising at 10-25% per year.

When I talk to the founders of one of these “eHarmony of” companies, one of the hardest problems is how to predict and test the concept in the early days – before you have scale. In fact, if you do both, it’s called a Zig-Zag strategy. After the rental I sold the item on eBay for around about 80% of the retail price.
