Taking a chapter out of the popularity of sites like Chatroulette in connecting up strangers with one another, Los Angeles-based Anybeat , the alternative socialnetworking site run by Dmitri Shapiro, said Friday that it has rolled out a new feature called "Interest Roulette".
In addition to the new name, AnyBeat outlined a number of principles behind the socialnetwork. Shapiro was formerly the founder of VeohNetworks, and head of MySpace Music. The new name was not a surprise, as Shapiro had said the company would be renaming itself before launch.
A report today says that Dmitry Shapiro , the former founder of Veoh and head of MySpace Music, and currently founder of alternative socialnetworking site Anybeat , may be heading to Google to head up its Google+ efforts. Altly detailed its plans to create an alternative to Facebook last week, complaining in a lengthy manifesto from Shapiro that an alternative to Facebook was sorely needed due to privacy and other issues with the socialnetworking site.
