Bragstr , a new startup based in Chatsworth, said today that it has launched a new service which combines fantasy sports and social gaming. Bragstr said its new service will let fans compete, socialize, and tout their knowledge of sports, allowing users to make fantasy bets on upcoming sporting events for virtual gold coins.

MRV Wins BBC

Chatsworth-based MRV Communications , a developer of optical networking hardware, said today that it was selected by the BBC, for transporting high definition video between temporary studio locations for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. MRV said the BBC used its TereScope 5000/G products, a free-space optical system which provides Ethernet service.
