Los Angeles-based MySpace Music announced this morning that it has hired Dmitry Shapiro , who founded Veoh, as its new Chief Technology Officer. Shapiro was founder and CEo of Veoh Networks until its bankruptcy filing in February. Shapiro also served as founder of Akonix Systems. READ MORE>>.

Irvine-based Local.com , a developer of local search sites and business directories, has hired on a new Chief Technology Officer, Michael Plonski. The firm said that it snagged Plonski from Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, where he was SVP/Chief Information Officer & Chief Operating Officer, Digital.
