According to the group, the hackathon is the first ever "civic hackathon" in Los Angeles, and asks participants to pull in civic data from the City of LA to help power apps.

He had an idea for a startup that would help consumers better book service jobs and would take on Service Magic, which he believed had a business model that could be disrupted. I acted as the occasional mentor, advisor and coach to Ethan. When Ethan was considering leaving Google we talked about it. The company was called Red Beacon.

Who with her Co-Founder Valerie Brennan , left a high profile position to help make a difference in peoples lives. We began doing singles events, matchmaking, and date coaching. It was Citysearch for women to find guys. So we wanted to help other women on the best places to go and find particular guys based on type.

I’m glad I choose to become a lawyer as the skills proved very useful later on and have helped tremendously with the business itself. We both had different types and interests in men and thought it would be great if there was a Citysearch for women based upon types. I feel I came full circle in the business light.
