It’s not uncommon for incredibly smart and talented Phd’s or CS majors from Stanford to raise $10 million on an early-stage “platform&# that if it succeeds it will be huge. We were also an investor in the early local listing company, CitySearch – an LA company. As a result many funds are OK with big bets.

Sam Rogoway: We use YouTube as our hosting platform, for a variety of reasons. In between practicing, I actually started and ran my own social network, TripUp, which was later acquired by Sidestep, which is now Kayak. Where do those videos get distribute? That way, we're able to maintain our quality and consistency.
