The basic conclusion was that it was a bit premature if you were talking about a serious, funded start-up. He sees this as similar to what happened with SMTP, POP, HTTP, etc. OpenEvents and OpenReviews, were early attempts at standardizing schemas and shared servers for these forms of micro-content.
