Overture never built the destination site to monetize from. So when Google started pushing AdSense (ads for affiliate or 3rd party sites) they had a HUGE cost advantage. The reason is that like Hollywood these seem to require large up-front investments and seem to be hit driven. Google had huge destination traffic.
