Amazon EC2 would be considered fully managed cloud, which also happens to be off premise. We are also pushing out updates all the time to our customers. IN the past, that would have meant sending emails, giving a call to IT, articulating what you need, and eventually your ticket might get closed down in a week or a month.

We had email, instant messaging, group calendars, discussion boards, etc. They had a proprietary browser, their own search engine, their own content, chat rooms, email system, etc. But AOL brought online services, email, chat and discussion boards to the masses and thus educated a generation that paved the way for others.
