Elon Musk and Tesla made their battery patents available to anyone, to clear the path for market infrastructure growth and compatibility, which of course benefits Tesla. Be sure to involve real people and real customers, such as GoPro cameras , with user generated demos and amazing aspirational videos.

They demoed the electricity transfer with a physical device that looked like something that would never be allowed on an airplane. Did anybody hold patents that would prevent us from using this technology? I seldom hire patent attorneys during due diligence but this was too important. But it seemed to work.
