Newport Beach-based Mindspeed Technologies , a developer of semiconductor products, announced today that it has rolled out a version of its Comcerto processors specifically geared towards voice-over-IP processing. Mindspeed said its Comcerto 300xv is sampling now and will go into volume production in the second half of the year.

We've got four generation of parts in the market, with three in production, and the fourth sampling--with a fifth in design. Today, they're designing into the larger appliances smart grid programs, and a number of server manufacturers are starting to design in and introduce energy measurement into their devices as well.
