Online higher education startup 2tor , which has offices in Los Angeles and a prominent deal with the University of Southern California, said this morning that it has raised $26M in a Series D funding round. 2tor has an office up the street from USC near the Staples Center.

New York-based 2tor , a startup which helps universities develop online degree programs, has just raised $750,000 in additional funding, according to a regulatory filing by the firm Monday. The firm has previously raised funding from Highland Capital, Redpoint Ventures, Novak Biddle Venture Partners, and City Light Capital.

Their first fund was a $75 million fund raised in 2006 and they very recently announced a brand new $130 million fund. Closing a VC fund in 2009/10 is a major achievement in and of itself.
