AOL controlled the services, taxed companies to access users and decided what was good or bad. The Past (1985-2002).

I believe that this is a major new area of growth & innovation for the Internet as Cloud Services start to form deeper & richer layers. I mention this because I believe the layered metaphor for technology development has served our industry well and even if you aren’t technical it’s an important concept for you to grasp.
