On March 30, 2010, President Obama signed into law the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act enacting a new excise tax on medical device sales. Wednesday, April 11, 2012 -- Are You Ready for the Medical Device Excise Tax? The new excise tax is imposed at a rate of 2.3% on sales of medical devices after December 31, 2012.
