Some used Java, Ruby, jQuery while others used PHP, HTML, and CSS. The event included eleven participating teams from around the area, all with various backgrounds. Throughout the whole event the energy was so high and showed the excitement in the community for such an event. But this event was special.
Spearheaded by Alex Donn , the event was designed for both technical and non-technical attendees to build apps over the course of a weekend at Io/La , an incubator/co-work space in the heart of Hollywood. This was a free event boasting prizes for winners of various categories such as cash, gift cards, free month stay at Io/La and many more!
AT&T and American Airlines went all out with this event. I attended this event and I believe I saw Anya Ayoung Chee in the house (winner of Project Runway #9 and a former Ms. Technologies used: HTML5, python, django, jQuery Mobile, javascript, mysqldb. Technologies used: SQL Server, C#, IIS, HTML, and CSS.
