Los Angeles-based GOGII , the venture backed provider of mobile social messaging services, has snagged MySpace exec Chandra Hill as its new Vice President of Monetization and Publishing. Hill was most recently VP of Mobile Monetization at MySpace. GOGII develops textPlus, a mobile social messaging application for the iPhone.

Scott Lahman is co-founder of Los Angeles-based GOGII (www.gogii.com), the developer of group text messaging application textPlus. Lahman is also one of the co-founders of JAMDAT Mobile, the immensely successful developer of mobile games, which had an IPO in 2004, and eventually became part of Electronic Arts in 2006.

In total, Demand Media owns 20 media networks in the US alone and is one of the best reasons why Paul Graham believes Hollywood is dead. For the Scott Lahman fans, the inclusion of Sky Dayton cover JAMDAT which is a lot of the Gogii team. Your former Activision early hire Scott Lahman is not on this list as CEO of Gogii/TextPlus.

Great companies like BeachMint that are growing at a rapid clip have to dig deep into their networks to meet hiring needs. In San Diego you have Qualcomm so an entire mobile industry has been spawned. Hautelook, Gogii, Magento. Each of these companies exited for more than $500 million and several north of $1 billion.
