The OC Tech Alliance , one of the groups supporting the technology industry in Orange County, says it will become part of another local industry group, OCTANe , effective December 31st. As part of the merger, current members of the OC Tech Alliance must re-join and become an OCTANe member, according to the group.

OCTANe , the Orange County-based organization helping to bolster the high tech industry and entrepreneurs, reported this morning that in the first half of 2012, companies participating in its startup accelerator have raised a total of $26.8M in funding.

Two major orange county technology advocacy and business groups, OCTANe and the Orange County Venture Group (OCVG) said today that they have merged their organizations. Both groups have regularly run events geared toward the high tech market in Orange County.

Clearly, 2009 was not a good year, from the perspective of the technology innovation ecosystem. At the same time, the need for the products and services that OCTANe provides are greater in a recessionary economy than in when the economy is booming. For OCTANe to be successful, we want to see our technology ecosystem grow.

Orange County's nonprofit effort to support the technology industry, OCTANe , announced this morning that it has located a replacement for outgoing president and CEO, Gary Augusta. According to OCTANe, it has named Matthew Jenusaitis as the next president and CEO of the group. and Baxter Healthcare. and Baxter Healthcare.
