My last company got acquired by Qualcomm, and Qualcomm wanted me to move to San Diego to run their emerging business portfolio. I did that for a couple of years, which got me and my wife down to SoCal. I then became and EIR at UC San Diego, and joined EvoNexus, the not-for-profit incubator run by the Irvine Company.

Launchpad is a virtual incubator and accelerator, where we put companies in and give them quantitative and qualitative feedback and mentorship. You have to give thanks to Southwest Airlines and Virgin America for their $39 flights, which makes it a day trip to SFO or San Jose.
