The problem that I’ve seen historically in cities like Los Angeles, San Diego or Seattle is that their historic high-net-worth individuals didn’t come from the tech startup world. On my trip I also gave my usual advice to entrepreneurs who don’t live in a major tech funding hub: Find VCs who are from your area originally.
