He references CIO Bernard Golden’s argument, made in The IT Jobs Cloud Computing Will Create , that while some roles may disappear altogether, others will remain, but in much less demand.

It’s not clear that there was big customer demand for some of these products yet entrepreneurs were egged on by VCs to “take the money&# and try and push the market. I loved the quote so much I wrote an entire blog post on the topic. The former was outsourced, the latter was our own team. This is total bullshit.

A great recent example of this was a successful group of entrepreneurs who had created a company that will do $10-12 million in revenue at their system integration business (read: services business) in 2011 after having done $5 million or so in 2010 and $2-3 million in 2009. Even tech blogs know this.
