Sherman Oaks-based GoTV Networks , the provider of mobile applications and content, has been acquired by a Texas mobile software developer, Phunware. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. According to Phunware, the acquisition will add offices in San Francisco, Sherman Oaks, and San Diego.

Greenplum , a software firm developing database clustering software used for the data warehousing business, has been acquired by EMC. The acquisition is the end of a long road for Greenplum--originally based in Sherman Oaks--and its investors, which includes San Diego's Mission Ventures.
