For our interview today, we talked with CEO and co-founder Jon Grishpul about the startup, which offers up its services for free to homeowners in the Los Angeles area. We only operate in Los Angeles County and parts of Ventura County, and from here, we're going to gradually build our network across other areas around Los Angeles as we expand.

One of the stealthiest Los Angeles startups to emerge in the last few months has been Namesake (www.namesake.com), headed by Brian Norgard and co-founded by Dan Gould. We actually go to Quora all the time, and refer back to Quora as a knowledge source. But, our end goals are different.

To address that worry, Los Angeles-based DogVacay (www.dogvacay.com) lauched last week -- just in time for SXSW -- to help connect dog owners with individual dog lovers to help watch their dogs at their homes. We do phone interviews, and check references for lots of our hosts. We're launching March 1st in Los Angeles and San Francisco.

John Singleton: In reference to contests--one thing about our technology--is we have the only system like this on the web. My background, is I'm from Los Angeles. They talk about us in their blogs, they give us feedback, and they're very vocal. People can write comments and rate publishers, which we vet very carefully.
