Los Angeles-based GOGII , the venture backed provider of mobile social messaging services, has snagged MySpace exec Chandra Hill as its new Vice President of Monetization and Publishing. Hill was most recently VP of Mobile Monetization at MySpace. Hill has also served at Fox Interactive Media.
Scott Lahman is co-founder of Los Angeles-based GOGII (www.gogii.com), the developer of group text messaging application textPlus. Lahman is also one of the co-founders of JAMDAT Mobile, the immensely successful developer of mobile games, which had an IPO in 2004, and eventually became part of Electronic Arts in 2006.
Los Angeles-based GOGII , the developer of text messaging applications headed by three of the founders of JAMDAT Mobile, reported late last week that it has sent over 10 billion text messages from its textPlus texting app.
In addition to the new funding, the company also said it has acquired Los Angeles-based Jarvus , which develops an app to people capture and share experiences, events and moments together. textPlus, which is based in Marina Del Rey, develops a combination of mobile apps and related services which allow users to text each other for free.
