The first tunnel being built by Los Angeles-based Boring Company , a prototype tunnel meant to prove out its technology and feasibility of transporting people and traffic beneath city streets, is nearly complete, according to Boring Company and SpaceX founder Elon Musk. The tunnel runs approximately 2 miles under city streets.
