Arcadia-based Siimpel , a developer of micro-electro mechanical systems (MEMS) based cameras, has been acquired by Tessera Technologies , Tessera announced Tuesday afternoon. The deal was worth $15M in cash. Siimpel was founded in 2000, and had 42 employees, as well as a stable of 65 patents and patent applications.

Arcadia-based Siimpel Corporation , which is developing MEMs-based components for mobile cameras, announced Monday afternoon that the firm has raised an additional round of investment from LG Innotek. The firm has raised more than $61M in venture funding since 2003, and last raised a funding round in November of 2008 lead by DOCOMO.
