She took an operating role helping run Citysearch and Urbanspoon. And all the platform stuff. Kara will now be really involved with what goes on to successfully create and run a firm but while still handling her core duties of funding great entrepreneurs. Does This Mean You’re Retiring? And I had been telling my partners for a couple of years that I thought Ethan was one of the more talented entrepreneurs I had come across in San Francisco. We generally have a policy to only fund entrepreneurs once the first version of a product has shipped or it near to shipping. We like to be able to see the concept.

We both wanted to build a practice that would make Los Angeles proud but where we would travel tirelessly to other locations to make investments in the best entrepreneurs wherever they were. We've instead taken those comments and turned them into scores and a rating platform. Places are rated pretty well--you've got Yelp taking care of that, CitySearch, and other sites doing that really well. They don't connect that the launch of this social platform and ratings are the same dudes. No one knows about that article.
