El Segundo-based iChange , the online community site focused on nutrition counseling headed by Stuart MacFarlane, has raised another $500,000, as part of an ongoing $600,000 funding round, according to a regulatory filing by the firm today. MacFarlane is the former CEO of InsiderPages, which he sold to Citysearch in 2007.

I acted as the occasional mentor, advisor and coach to Ethan. Ethan had pointed out to me that merchants were being barraged by “deal site” wanting to drive customers in the door but they didn’t have great tools to manage their customers. I think it’s a beautifully designed site and product.

It was Citysearch for women to find guys. The site itself was originally meant for women, but we began noticing a large portion of our readership was male. For a female entering this world you have to get mentors, ask people to coffee. I ran things for about a year until Val was able to join on full time. What’s next?

We both had different types and interests in men and thought it would be great if there was a Citysearch for women based upon types. What started as a site for women has molded into a place for both genders. One woman’s success is another woman’s success – help, mentor, guide them, etc.
