We thought today for our interview, that we'd get an update on the angel investment environment here in Southern California from Scott Sangster , the incoming President of the Los Angeles Chapter of the Tech Coast Angels , the biggest angel investment group in Southern California.

Ten tech startups will vie to impress a panel of six judges and hundreds of attendees at San Diego’s biggest pitch contest later this month. Launched in 2006 by San Diego’s Tech Coast Angels, the annual John G. Three of the 10 slated to pitch at the Oct. 24 event will get a cut of $75,000 to advance their businesses.

The company originally raised funding as part of the San Diego Tech Coast Angels, in a "Quick Pitch" competition three years ago. The startup had announced $2M in an earlier funding in January of 2019. Trust & Will was foudned by Cody Barbo, Daniel Goldstein, and Brian Lamb. READ MORE>>.

I’m planning on going to a Tech Coast Angels mixer tomorrow and the topic for me is whether there is angel funding out there for startups that don’t meet classic VC models. There was some Twitter chat before the event about whether this “replaces&# local angel funding communities like the Tech Coast Angels. We don’t need competition – we need more overall organizations like Jason’s to helping young entrepreneurs more easily reach angel investors with no payola.
