There were startups and a software industry but barely. I started my first company in 1999 and was admittedly swept up in all of this: Magazine covers, fancy conferences, artificial valuations and easy money. There was no money train. It was 1991. We still loved every moment. In a market doing this it becomes very hard to do otherwise.
