And we wanted a head of global marketing. I acted as the occasional mentor, advisor and coach to Ethan. I wanted them to have a market lead before others could try and build what Ethan was working on. We will stay in LA and then Southern California before branching out into our 2nd & 3rd markets.

I think this is a combination of being realists as venture capitalists that outsized returns in our funds must come from taking on bigger, more impactful projects that can move markets. Meredith came to see me along with the CTO Marc Berte. Was there consumer demand? No brainer. Could we produce this at cost?

In my case, I had a mentor at the time who helped me understand how there was a parallel between the printing press and the Renaissance, and the Internet as the next step in information and communications. I was SVP of Technology, and Dawn ran support and operations, and later billing and marketing. What are your backgrounds?

All these efforts were to figure out what it would take to put something like this in the market. We also have Chris Cookson as a technical advisor.
