The most attractive thing about it was the educational value. So, we were pretty excited to educate ourselves at TechStars. The program itself is incredibly daunting initially, but it was really valuable for us, especially as an educational experience. We have some great mentors now. Working for someone else is not fun.

Okuno has been investing in Los Angeles startups for the past three years after selling his own company E-Z Data. Okuno said, “I have invested in over 40 startups almost always in the six-figure range.” He is looking to find more. RocksBox , a new discovery and sales channel for designer fashion jewelry. Or maybe a goldmine.
