AT&T Mobile App Hackathon | Superheroes & Geeks, Only in Hollywood!

Developers were allowed to code in any language they were most comfortable with including Objective C, Java, Javascript, HTML, C #, Dot Net, and XNA. Making the most of our location, the Venue Pop team decided to have fun with the pitch and demo by featuring two superheroes. We walked over down to Hollywood Blvd.

A Night Of #Hackfest With BetterWorks

Some used Java, Ruby, jQuery while others used PHP, HTML, and CSS. The coolest part about these products was that most of the were live working demos. Cool Car Pools for example, an application to help co-workers locate each other that they could carpool with, demoed an entire use case for us.

Mimiboard Replacing Noticeboards in Africa | Interview with Johan Nel Founder

The Mimiboard beat ten other apps from Africa to be the best at the App demo competition held at the Nairobi Open Innovation Summit in May. People can now add notes to the board – using Twitter, SMS, Rich web, WAP, Android and Java supported devices. Then you assign certain categories to it.

Twiistup 007: Final Showoff's Additional Speakers and TZ Discount

The final showoff's have been selected, so that brings the count to a total of 10 showoff's plus a wild card from the demo night at UCLA (full list of showoff's below). He is the co-author of several books including The Black Art of Java Game Programming(Waite Group Press, 1996). He is a frequent public speaker.
