In many ways, this was like all the other Tesla events I’ve attended: the pumpy music and mood lighting, the designed-to-inspire kick off video, the Tesla superfans (pictured below), and the long lines for a brief test ride. The city is prepping for coming deluge by creating designated parking areas and other signage.

Historically we were near Beverly Hills in Los Angeles and throughout the 1990s and early 2000s this was fine since there was not strong locus in LA with some great deals in Pasadena, downtown, San Fernando Valley as well as on the Westside in Santa Monica. Also, many of our deals were in NYC, Chicago, San Francisco or London.

And costume & set designers. In LA companies used to be concentrated near Pasadena or in the San Fernando Valley. It’s becoming harder to distinguish tech companies from media companies. Many “tech companies” now have green screens. And make-up artists. And sound engineers. And post production. And writers!
