For some reason, I haven’t heard much about the next generation of the Internet ( Web 3.0 ) lately, which probably means it isn’t happening as fast as everyone predicted. I suspect the real challenge is not the semantic web technology , but new attractive business models from smart entrepreneurs. Mobile smart phones.

Can you believe all the talk these days about Web 3.0? I’ve been doing some research to assess how much of it is reality, since I have to admit that I seem to have missed the clues to the transition to Web 2.0, After some work, I’m still convinced that much of the Web 3.0 Mobile smart phones. are appearing. are appearing.

We have refind our thesis around why mobile is so special, and how it ties into location, and have spent two years working on precise, location targeted ads in the industry. It's little known, but we were going to sign the docs on a Series A two days after we got the LOI for TeleNav. Precision targeting was very attractive to them.

The two mobile apps have been used by almost 4 million people according to Microsoft. Microsoft announced last week its plans to launch an Android app for SkyDrive after updating and improving SkyDrive for web, desktop and mobile. Excellent Web Experiences. SkyDrive on Android. Gilt Group is currently the largest private sale web site in US. Booyah – Develops a location based service platform that pairs the virtual world with mobile gaming. In the show we talked about why this is important to mobile application developers. Configurable from desktop-based web-based UI. Time will tell.
