NeuroVigil has previously raised seed funding from DFJ Frontier, Draper Fisher Jurvetson, and ZoneVentures, which invested $250K in the firm when it won the 2008 DFJ Venture Challenge. NeuroVigil's technology is based on research from the Salk Instutute for Biological Studies. The firm was founded by Dr. Philip Low.
Qualcomm, Motorola, Micron Technology, along with investors Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Portage Venture Partners, ZoneVentures, Scales Venture Partners, and SunAmerica. The firm has raised more than $61M in venture funding since 2003, and last raised a funding round in November of 2008 lead by DOCOMO.
According to the company, the round was led by Howard Morgan, and also included Elon Musk, Tim Draper, and Draper Fisher Jurvetson and ZoneVentures. La Jolla-based NeuroVigil , a developer of brain monitoring tools and technology, said it has received a second financing round. Size of the funding was not disclosed.
Siimpel said the new round of funding was led by DOCOMO Capital, and also included Qualcomm, Motorola, Micron Technology, and its existing venture investors, which includes Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Portage Venture Partners, ZoneVentures, Scale Venture Partners, and SunAmerica.
