San Diego-based clean energy developer EDF Renewables North America said on Monday that it has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) for part of a new solar energy project in Texas. The company said that it has signed a 55 megawatt PPA with BASF for the new project, which is located in Wharton County, Texas. EDF Renewables said its new Space City Solar project is expected to start construction in summer of 2021, and will have a capacity of up to 345 MW.

Los Angeles-based Perch , a startup which helps users grow their credit by allowing them to pay for such things as Netflix, Spotify, Hulu, and other services on credit, has raised $2.5M in a seed funding, the company said this week. The funding came from Marcy Venture Partners, Citi, Softbank Group Opportunity Fund, Concrete Rose, and Village Capital.

Santa Monica-based Sensei Ag , the Larry Ellison-backed startup focused on food supply and agricultural technology, has named a new advisory board. The startup said its Advisory Board now includes Amy Povich Agus, Dr. Leslie H. Fuchigami and Dr. Mary K. Wagner, who it says are executives in the agricultural, food, consumer, and scientific industries.

Los Angeles-based solar power project developer 8minute Solar Energy said today that it has upsized a letter of credit it received, upping the originally $225M letter of credit and revolving credit facility to $350M. The company said the additional $125M in the facility comes from includes new lenders Deutsche Bank, Landesbank Hessen-Thuringen (Helaba), and Norddeutsche Landesbank (NORD/LB).

San Diego-based Neomorph , a biotech startup focused on protein degradation, said today that it has raised $109M in a Series A funding. The funding came from Deerfield Management. The company said its targeted protein degradation technology is aimed at developing novel therapeutics across a broad range of disease areas, including oncology. The company's scientific founders are Phil Chamberlain, DPhil; Eric Fischer, PhD; Benjamin Ebert, MD, PhD; and Scott Armstrong, MD, PhD.
