Every new business quickly realizes that revenue coming in every period on a committed basis is the Holy Grail to survival and growth. Based on traditional research, getting new customers is five to ten times harder than getting additional revenue from existing customers. Thus the subscription model (low fixed monthly payments), has become the norm for new products and services.

Los Angeles-based Fernish , a direct-to-consumer furniture rental company, said on Wednesday that it has raised $15M in a Series A funding round. Hawthorne-based SpaceX and NASA will re-attempt the first launch of satellites into space on the SpaceX Crew Dragon and a Falcon 9 on Saturday, after being forced to scrub their Wednesday launch. Inclement weather, including nearby thunderstorms and rain, forced SpaceX to halt its launch efforts 16 minutes before launch. There is also another possible launch window on Sunday, in case of any additional issues for the launch on Saturday.

Los Angeles-based online e-commerce retailer Newegg says it is expanding its services to help its vendors, with a new "Direct-to-Consumer" initiative. According to Newegg, the effort helps its vendor partners "maximize their reach" within the Newegg platform. Newegg said it will provide everything from marketing to merchandising to logistics for those vendor partners.

Los Angeles-based ServiceTitan , which develops a cloud-based software platform used by residential and commercial service contractors to manage their businesses, has acquired Pointman , a New York-based company that develops software for contractors. Financial terms of the acquisition were not announced. According to ServiceTitan, Pointman combines operations management software for contractors with ongoing coaching, analysis, feedback, and peer connections.
