We can also write checks as large as $35M out of the Omega Fund. Materials is as well, and I spend lots of time at UCLA, and Caltech looking at interesting materials.

If you're doing freelance writing, have a story you're trying to sell, there's a whole process of finding out where you're doing well, not doing well, and what responses you have received.

It’s a shame because the ability to nail these presentations at key conferences can be once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to influence journalists, business partners, potential employees, customers and VCs. This was evident at the Twiistup pre-event company pitch last week at UCLA. I can then change my focus based on the results.
