Part of the reason is that when I look at the CTOs, we see that the industries (games, entertainment, aerospace, retail, etc.), Most networking events tend to either focus on specific technologies (PHP,Net, C#, Microsoft, LAMP, MySQL, Open Source, Hadoop, Java, etc.) or focused on industry or type of company.

Sure, it was held at the modest (though historical) Wadsworth Theater, and, let's face it, the nominees and winners a little one-sided, but it was achieving its goal of elevating web shows to a new status in Hollywood.
