Peter Gotcher , the Chairman and co-founder of Santa Monica-based music startup Topspin Media , has scored an Emmy award, for his work in co-founding firm Digidesign. Los Angeles-based Aggregage (www.aggregage.com) is looking to help aggregate the content across multiple blog publishing sites, and curate that information into specific, B2B niche vertical web sites. That is starting to show itself in the B2B space. Entertainment is confusing--we didn't make investments in pure content plays.

Another topic we debated early in the program was “lean startup” vs. “ fat startup ” where we both took the obvious hedge and said “it depends.” But truthfully both Dana and I are more aligned with the lean startup principles and believe you only go FAT when you’ve really proved out your product / market fit. Time will tell.
