John laid into a well-honed thesis on why the social web needed a “Page Rank” equivalent for people. I almost don’t want to tell you because I love the product and would love for them to stay under the radar screen from investors. Don’t be surprised if you see me bagsie that idea for GRP Partners.

Gilt Group is currently the largest private sale web site in US. Configurable from desktop-based web-based UI. Those companies are already going to be crushed by Skype’s new screen sharing capabilities. If I were a number 3-5 players I’d be looking to exit early while there’s still a lot of enthusiasm for this hot market.

In my LA I often see computer screens open with entrepreneurs talking about digital media. That sets us up nicely for the next phase of the web. Scott Painter , founder of CarsDirect has created TrueCar (backed by GRP Partners). I live in the city of Santa Monica. And of course you have Hollywood.

He started targeting the ad by location and interest, and the number of potential people he was reaching began decreasing on screen (Facebook tells you dynamically).
