Although Los Angeles has become a hub for the high tech startup world, Surprisingly, one of the things which hasn't happened in the Los Angeles area is any huge, successful venture acceleration programs. I moved to the Santa Monica office of Microsoft Consulting Service. I've also been involved in ValueLogic software.

Erik Rannala: MuckerLab is a new startup accelerator, focused on incubation stage Internet, software, services, and media businesses here in LA. At the time, that was high tech, and bricks were a combination of mud, hay, and muck. Erik, thanks for the time. It's a very similar model to YCombinator and TechStars.

Yesterday, Santa Monica-based SharesPost (www.sharespost.com) launched a new service of particular interest to the venture capital and high tech startup market, a new, online service which facilitates the buying and selling of private company stock. We co-founded Zag together, and I was the COO of CarsDirect.
